President's Welcome

As President, I am delighted to have the opportunity to give you a warm welcome to Menai Bridge Cricket Club / Clwb Criced Porthaethwy, and I hope you enjoy not only perusing our website, but maybe becoming a playing member, supporter or merely a visitor to our picturesque ground overlooking the Menai Straits and the mountains of Snowdonia / Eryri.

Menai Bridge CC / CC Porthaethwy has come a long way since 1973, when it amounted to not much more than a wooden shed which accommodated both home and away teams down the two sides of the shed. We had no toilets or showers, no running water, a kit bag, a mower and roller, while tea was served on a small table down the middle of the shed.

I can confirm this as I started my long association with the Club in 1973 as a junior member. These days we can boast a superb playing area, state of the art all-
weather net practice pitches, and soon a newly extended pavilion and changing rooms.

Our current set-up is very strong across all aspects of the Club. I want you to feel welcomed and valued at the cub, and to feel a part of something unique. We are a
local club playing an important role in the development and promotion of cricket in our local community. And we are a club at the heart of communities across the Isle of Anglesey.

If you join and get involved, I guarantee you will feel nothing else like it. You will feel part of something important, worthwhile and shared. I believe this is a happy club, where everyone is treated fairly and respectfully and where a sense of fun and enjoyment is always with us. If you are interested in contributing to the club as player, parent or helper do please get in touch.

I am immensely proud of the Club, and to be its President.

Yours,

Keith Hughes
